1 lb Ground beef, extra lean 1 c Long-grain rice -- uncooked
1 md Onion -- chopped 1 ts Salt
1 md Green pepper -- chopped 1 ts Chili powder
1 Clove garlic -- minced 1 1/4 ts Dried thyme
1 cn Stewed tomatoes -- 14 1/2 1/4 ts Dried basil
Oz 1/4 ts Pepper
1 1/2 c Water 2 tb Tomato paste
In large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, green pepper and garlic
until the meat is browned; drain. Stir in the next eight ingredients;
bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 min. or until
the rice is tender. Stir in tomato paste and heat through. Serve with
French bread. Yield: 4 to 6 servings.
