1 c Butter Or Margarine -- 2 c All-Purpose Flour
Softened 3/4 ts Baking Soda
1/2 c Granulated Sugar 3/4 ts Salt
1/2 c Light Brown Sugar -- Firmly 1 3/4 c (12 Oz) MMs Semi-Sweet
Packed Chocolate Baking Bits
1 lg Egg 1/2 c Seedless Red Raspberry Jam
1 ts Vanilla Extract
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Line a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil, extending it 1-inch
beyond each end of the pan. In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugars
until light and fluffy; add egg and vanilla.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture until
blended. By hand, stir in Baking Bits. Reserve 1 cup dough; spread
remaining dough into prepared pan. Spread jam evenly over top of
dough to within 1/2-inch of edges. Drop reserved dough by
teaspoonfuls randomly over the jam. Bake 30 to 35 mins or until light
golden brown. Cool completely in pan. Remove by lifting foil; cut
into squares. Store in tightly covered container. Makes 40 squares.
