See below ingredients and instructions of the recipe
1 lb Asst dry beans, any kind 2 Bay leaves
1/2 c Pearl barley 1/2 ts Thyme
28 oz Chopped tomatoes, or 1/2 ts Marjoram
-equivalent of fresh Salt and pepper to taste
3 Carrots, chopped Veggie stock or water
3 Stalks celery, chopped -to fill the pot
1 lg Onion, diced
--------------------------OPTIONS-------------------------------
Fennel bulb, chopped Pasta
Peas, lentils, limas etc Anything you can think of
Corn
The dry beans are NOT cooked first - they cook just fine over the
course of the day, but if you are sensitive to the oligosaccarides in
them (the stuff that makes you noisy when you eat beans), be adivsed!
Throw the list in the crock in the morning, and you've got dinner
when you get home.
