1/2 c + 3 T reduced-calorie
-margarine, softened
1 1/3 c Sugar
8 Egg whites
1/2 c Nonfat sour cream
Alternative
1/3 c Evaporated skim milk
2 ts Vanilla extract
1 1/3 c All-purpose flour
1 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
2/3 c Unsweetened cocoa
Vegetable cooking spray
--------------------------FROSTING-------------------------------
3 c Sifted powdered sugar
1/4 c Unsweetened cocoa
1/4 ts Salt
1/4 c Skim milk
1 1/2 ts Vanilla extract
CHOCOLATE BROWNIES: Beat margarine at medium speed with an electric
mixer until fluffy; gradually add sugar and beat well. Add egg
whites, sour cream, milk and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour,
baking powder, salt and cocoa; stir well. Add flour mixture to
creamed mixture, mixing well. Pour batter into a 13x9x2-inch baking
pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350~ for 25 minutes or until a
wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire
rack. Spread Creamy Chocolate Frosting over cooled brownies, and cut
into squares.
CREAMY CHOCOLATE FROSTING: Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl,
stirring until frosting is of spreading consistency.
