1 1/2 lb Green beans -- fresh halves 1 ts Salt -- optional
1 md Onion -- cut into rings 3 tb Fresh savory
1 ea Celery ribs -- sliced Or 3 tsp. dried savory
3 ea Carrots -- cut into 2" 1/8 ts Pepper
Strips 1 c Water
In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce
heat; cover and simmer for 5-10 min. or until vegetables are tender,
stirring occasionally. Remove with a slotted spoon to a serving bowl.
Yield: 6 servings. Diabetic Exchanges: One serving (prepared without
added salt) equals 1 1/2 vegetable; also 41 calories, 20 mg sodium, 0
cholesterol, 9 gm carbohydrate, 2 gm protein, trace fat/
