1 pk Active dry yeast -- 1/4 oz 1 sm Onion -- chopped
1 ts Sugar 1 cn Tomato sauce -- 15 oz.
1 1/4 c Warm water 1 tb Dried oregano
1/4 c Vegetable oil 1 ts Dried basil
1 ts Salt 1 md Green pepper -- diced
3 1/2 c All-purpose flour 2 c Mozzarella cheese --
1/2 lb Ground beef, extra lean Shredded
In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in water; let stand for 5
min. Add oil and salt. Stir in flour, a cup at a time, to form soft
dough. Turn onto floured board; knead until smooth and elastic about
2 to 3 min. Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover
and let rise in a warm place until doubled about 45 min. Meanwhile
brown beef and onion; drain. Punch dough down; divide in half. Press
each into a greased 12 inch pizza pan. Combine the tomato sauce,
oregano and basil; spread over each crust. Top with beef mixture,
green pepper and cheese. Bake at 400 deg. for 25-30 min. or until
crust is lightly browned. Yield: 2 pizzas ( 6 servings).
