4 tb Oil 5 Cm cinnamon stick
2 Chopped onions 1 Bay leaf
3 Crushed garlic cloves 14 1/8 oz Tinned chopped tomatoes
3 ts Grated ginger Salt
1 tb Curry powder Ground black pepper
1 1/2 lb Minced beef

Rice
Keema is a simple curry made with minced beef and could be made
equally well with lean minced lamb. It is medium hot in strength.
1. Heat the oil in a heavy based saucepan. Fry the onions, garlic and
ginger for 3-4 minutes over a medium heat then stir in the curry
powder. Fry a further minute.
2. Add the minced beef, increase the heat and cook until browned,
stirring occasionnaly. Mix in the cinnamon stick, bay leaf and
tomatoes. Stir well and simmer for 45-55 minutes. Season and remove
bay leaf and cinnamon. Serve with rice and coriander.
