3/4 c Butter or margarine 1/4 ts Salt
1 c Sugar 1 ts Ground cinnamon
1 Egg 1 ts Ground cloves
1/4 c Molasses 1 ts Ground ginger
2 c All-purpose flour -Additional sugar
2 ts Baking soda
In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add egg and molasses;
beat well. Sift together dry ingredients; gradually add to creamed
mixture. Mix well. Chill the dough. Roll into 1-1/4 in. balls and
dip into sugar. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake
at 375 degrees F for about 10 minutes or until set and surface
cracks. Cool on wire racks.
Makes about 4 dozen.
