3/4 lb Round steak 1/4 ts Garlic salt
2 tb Vegetable oil 1/4 ts Pepper
1 lg Tomato; peeled and coarsely 1/8 ts Ground ginger
-chopped 1 tb Cornstarch
2 md Green peppers; thinly sliced 1/2 c Beef consomme
2 tb Soy sauce Hot cooked rice
1/4 ts Sugar
Partially freeze steak; slice across grain into 2" x 1/4" strips.
Cook steak in oil in a large skillet until brown. Stir in tomato,
green pepper, soy sauce, sugar, garlic salt, pepper, and ginger;
cover and simmer 15 minutes.
Combine cornstarch and consomme'; stir into steak mixture. Cover
and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve over rice.
Yield: 2 servings.
