2/3 c Butter 1/2 ts Cloves
1 c Brown sugar 1 ts Baking powder*
2 Eggs 8 oz Raisins
2 c Flour 8 oz Chopped dates
1 1/2 ts Cinnamon 1 c Chopped nuts
* dissolved in a little warm water
This mildly spicy cookie will be a big hit with everyone who loves
fruit and nuts.
Preheat oven to 375ø.
In a large bowl, cream butter with sugar and eggs until fluffy. In a
separate bowl, sift flour with cinnamon and cloves. Slowly beat flour
into butter and sugar. Add the dissolved baking soda. Stir in
raisins, dates and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking
sheet. Bake at 375ø for 7-9 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on
wire rack.
